Let Us Lay Prostrate Before Him

Where Christ reigns, the soul lays prostrate, subjecting itself to His perfect work. "For you have been saved by grace through faith..." We have been saved! There is not a man who was lost at sea that didn't obey the rescuer's command to enter the boat. Who are we, to be futile humans that would seek anything less than the saving work of God, moment by moment. We are truly foolish to think that we have any weight apart from the Sovereign Lord. We have no weight, we are but a breath and so when James urges us that the effectual fervent prayer avails, then we should agree and pray effectually and fervently. We are His children and if our fervency to fight for our rights on earth were how we prayed, we would see much more glory. If God grants whatsoever we ask, would He not grant the good things to His children who pester Him? Prayer is not a useless thing, in fact, it is the only useful thing to do! 'Apart from me, you can do nothing.' This means that if God is not moving in us, then it means we are not in Him, not working with Him. "You have not because you ask not." We forsake prayer and it's a terrible thing. We must lay prostrate and submit to Christ. We are useless otherwise.
Christ calls us to be in prayer, moment by moment. The Word commands it and it is not to be forsaken. This doesn't save us, but it will make our salvation so glorious and true to us in this world. It is sin to forsake prayer because we're forsaking the concept that God is working or even desiring to work. We become like the world, hating God because we would rather take on life on our own, not believing His work or pursuing His love in leading us through hard times and saving us from the things that will destroy us. We are not lovely people, we're quite ugly until he moves in us. God is powerful and He is beyond us. God is perfect and at the place of iniquity, He cries out, "Repent!!!! I'm right here! Repent and trust Me!" There is no exception to our lives but to turn from our own work and fighting in this world to Christ's completed work and victory in heaven. We are seated with Him and we are called to submit to Christ at His feet, boldly pleading that He be our Saviour, never retreating and never walking away. It is time for us to lay prostrate and allow God to do His work.
To lay prostrate means to let yourself be vulnerable in reverence. When we lay prostrate, we become malleable to however God would desire to work in us. We must allow Him to mold us and it starts at the heart and if we don't submit now, we will submit by matter of circumstance. Christ will break us and will make us nothing to draw us near to Him, to trust so that as He states, "If you abide in my commands, you will abide in my love..." He is wishing that we would abide in His love, coming before Him, submitting to Him and allowing Him to love us by doing His perfect work. If Christ were to be of any less blessing, then I could understand our fleshly struggle, but otherwise, Christ's yoke is easy because He is a better and greater blessing. God has called us to Himself, by His work, to do His work by His ability. This is Him; about Him and for Him. Jesus ever, Jesus only, Jesus always. Amen.
